Scream And Run Controls

The official bind list, expanded into how you should actually use it.

Controls Cheat Sheet

The Roblox description for Scream And Run prints four actions. This cheat sheet is that list plus the mistakes that get people killed. It is not a voice-chat tutorial. If you came from a scream-to-jump obby, unlearn the mic. Jump is not a scream here. Movement is Shift, C, Shift + C, and F.

Official PC binds

ActionBindWhen to use it
RunShiftBreaking a chase, crossing a landing, never as a default walk in a main hall
CrouchCDefault stealth, window lines, Hide And Seek
CrawlCSame key, lower profile through doorways the hunter already scanned
SlideShift + CThresholds and stair exits, not a full-hallway lifestyle
FlashlightFPulse to read backpacks and No Power floors, then off

Roblox itself still owns the rest of the stack: jump on Space if the client allows it, camera on right mouse, shift-lock if you enabled it in Roblox settings. Shift-lock helps hallway checks and hurts some slides — test in Free Roam before an Escape badge attempt.

Mobile

Find crouch and flashlight on the HUD before you leave spawn. Thumb sprint is the mobile version of holding Shift and it will still get you killed in a long hall. Tap flashlight; do not leave the beam on while you steer. If the HUD hides slide behind a run+crouch combo, practice it in Free Roam until it is muscle memory. No Power on a small screen is harder because beam discipline fights your own UI.

Gamepad

Map sprint to a trigger you are willing to release. Map crouch to a face button you can hit without losing camera. Flashlight should be a bumper you can bump, not a hold. If your layout makes slide accidental, you will yeet yourself into the Cat in the Hat. Rebind in Roblox settings, then confirm in Free Roam.

Common bind myths

  • ‘I need voice chat to jump.’ False for this title. That is a different Roblox genre.
  • ‘Flashlight should always be on.’ False. It is information for both sides. See items.
  • ‘Slide is faster than run for the whole map.’ False. Slide is a burst. Holding it in the open is a highlight for the hunter.
  • ‘Crouch is only for Hide And Seek.’ False. Escape chases end on C more often than on Shift.

Practice order

  1. Free Roam: walk a classroom U at crouch, pulse F on a backpack, leave the other door.
  2. Free Roam: sprint a hall, force yourself to C at the first junction.
  3. Escape: use slide only on a threshold.
  4. Hide And Seek: never F unless you lost the hunter and need a landmark.
  5. No Power: the same loop with one-second beams.

If a patch changes a printed bind, we will date it on release notes and fix this table. Until then, trust the description over a random GUI overlay. Overlays belong in script safety, not on your HUD.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What are the Scream And Run controls?

Run Shift, Crouch and Crawl C, Slide Shift + C, Flashlight F. That list is on the official Roblox page.

How do I slide?

Shift + C on PC. Practice in Free Roam. Use it on thresholds, not as a full-map speed tech.

Is there a jump bind?

Roblox jump still exists on Space if the place allows it. The studio's printed actions are run, crouch, crawl, slide, and flashlight — not mic jump.

Do controls change as the Cat in the Hat?

You still move in the same client. The job changes, not the keyboard. See Play as the Cat.
