Scream And Run How to Play as the Cat in the Hat

Hunter fundamentals for the school after dark.

Play as the Cat

Most of this wiki is written for people who want to leave the school. This page is for the round you spawn as the problem. The Cat in the Hat is the hunter identity of Scream And Run. There is a 599 Robux gamepass, 2x Chance To Play As Cat In The Hat, if you want the role more often. There is no confirmed pay-to-win one-shot that skips positioning. You still have to walk the building.

The Cat in the Hat hunting survivors in a Scream And Run school hall

Read the hunter overview for identity and audio tells. Read this guide for what to do with a round. Survivors should stay on Escape and Hide And Seek.

Your job is pressure, not a montage

A good Cat in the Hat round is a series of door checks that keep survivors from finishing a backpack U-sweep. You do not need every kill. You need the lobby too scared to complete keys. Camping the exit the entire game can work once; it teaches 49 people to loot in peace. Patrol a classroom cluster, cut a hall, then glance at the exit. Repeat.

Flashlights are your radar. A beam in a window is a player who has not read items. Walk toward light, then check the second door of that classroom because the smart ones already crouched out the back.

Footsteps on Shift are your second radar. Anyone still holding sprint in a main hall is offering a free chase. Take it. Anyone already on C is not worth a 40-second tunnel unless you saw them with a stack of keys.

Checks that convert

  • Two-door classrooms: enter one door, look, leave the other. Do not spin in the teacher desk for style.
  • Stair landings: hiders and loot paths share them. Stand a second, then leave. Lingering tells survivors you are AFK.
  • Backpack piles in open halls: look once. If empty, rotate. If a survivor is still interacting, that is a free hit.
  • Exit foyer: visit, do not live there, unless the lobby has already announced keys in chat.

The embedded gameplay clip in the middle of this page is a live Scream And Run session. Use it for atmosphere and pacing, not as a hitbox bible. Studio patches can retune speed.

Using the 2x chance pass without wasting it

Buy 2x Cat chance only if you actually want hunter games. It does not help Escape badges. It does not replace Infinite Lives. It does not make Hide And Seek hiders worse. If you are still learning the school, spend the Robux on nothing, or on Infinite Lives for No Power. The gamepass tier list ranks this pass as a role ticket, not a survival ticket.

If you are the hunter without the pass, you will still get rounds. Fifty-player servers need a Cat. Be patient.

Etiquette that keeps lobbies alive

Grab And Throw and Push Pass are survivor toys that can also ruin your hunt if you rely on them as the Cat. Do not spend a round only shoving people into pits if the playlist is Escape; they will leave and the server dies. Hunt, then emote. The updates hub will note if the studio ever adds a hunter-only ability beyond the role itself.

When you lose a round because five people hid in S-tier spots, take the L and read the hiding-spot list from the other side. Hunters who know the S-tier rooms clear faster than hunters who only run halls.

Guides hub to return to survivor how-tos. Scripts if a video promised a hunter ESP — do not. Links for the official group if you want to report a hunter bug instead of assuming the role is broken.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I become the Cat in the Hat?

You can be assigned the hunter role in a round. The 2x Chance gamepass increases how often that happens. It is not required.

Does playing hunter help me get the Escape badge?

No. Escape badges are survivor clears. Hunter rounds are a different playlist goal.

Should I camp the exit?

Visit the exit. Do not live on it. Constant camping lets the rest of the school finish keys for free.

Are hunter cheats allowed on this wiki?

No. We do not publish ESP or speed scripts. See scripts safety.
